A Year of Goal Setting

One year ago, I began the process of goal setting monthly. While I did take a brief break, setting goals has totally and completely changed my life in ways that I never could have imagined. I feel so grateful to the one-year ago Abby for making the choice to make set goals and turn around my thinking. Choosing to make the most of a really frustrating situation and embrace the moment gave me so many incredible opportunities. Here I am one year later a much better person than I used to be. In the last year I/ we (because I can’t take all the credit for some things):

Lost 50 pounds
Developed a better relationship with food
Doubled my protein intake
Learned to love my body
Improved my endurance with running
Signed up for a 10k (this week!)
Got in the habit of exercising
Became a more active person
Quit biting my nails
Began reading 2-4 books a month
Learned to budget
Maxed out our retirement accounts for the first time
Invested additional money outside of traditional retirement accounts

The month of April came and went and for one reason or another, I never posted on this blog. I did however continue working on goals and on my reading list. I’m grateful for the ways my life has changed and I am looking forward to another year of goal setting. I’m still thinking through the ways I want to change how I think about and set goals to be more effective in the coming year.
