May goals follow up
It's the last day of May! That means I am done with my goals for the month. I have been really proud of what I've been able to accomplish. So here is the final rundown:
1. No sugar
WE DID IT! 1 whole month without added sugar. There were only a couple small slip-ups here and there in situations where we were eating out, at someone else's house, or things we didn't realize had sugar but even then it was something with a tiny amount of sugar like bread or sauces. We stayed away from treats, baked goods, and desserts (despite being offered numerous chocolate covered strawberries). I am proud to say that time I've lost 13 pounds, 2 inches off my waist and 4 off my hips which I am THRILLED about.
This month I worked my way through 10 books covering everything from health to fiction. I've really enjoyed the time I've spent reading and it has been a good change from the time I used to waste online or watching TV.
3. Be active
This month I pushed myself to be active every day and even if it was just going for a walk, I did it! I made good use of the gym at my new job, went to the classes offered at our rec center, and went out on pretty regular bike rides.
The biggest thing I have learned in the last month is that I really can be in control of my habits. I can choose to make good choices even when it is hard or feels overwhelming and that is a really empowering feeling. I have gained a lot of confidence in myself and I've gained a good amount of motivation to keep going!
When I first started working on this blog, I wanted it to be a place where I could talk about travel (which I keep doing) but I have found a lot of joy in being able to talk about my goals. Sharing my goals is something that has really helped me to commit to changing my habits even if no one else is actually interested in reading about it. So for now, I'm going to keep sharing.
In the meantime, I would love to hear about your goals and what you are doing to make them happen for you, so tell me about it down below!
