Where to Stay In Guanajuato, Mexico
I recently returned from a pretty amazing trip to Mexico. Thanks to a last minute change in plans I ended up taking a side trip to Guanajuato where I stayed in what is easily the most incredible hostel I have ever stayed in, Casa Del Dante. Here are just a few of the reasons you should check out this hostel on your next trip to Guanajuato.
1. The view
This place is seriously beautiful. Perched atop a hill overlooking the city, the hostel has two balconies each with incredible views and cozy seating.
2. The food
Included in the price of your room is daily breakfast. Every morning I was greeted with incredible breakfasts including adorable animal fruit plates, fresh juice, and what felt like a 5-star main course. It was seriously so good, and they even offered a vegetarian option.
3. The location
While this hostel is not in the heart of downtown I actually really liked it this way. It was about a 20-minute walk from town which unfortunately included a whole lot of stairs. Eventually, I found a way around this by taking a funicular uphill and then enjoying a leisurely walk on the panoramic highway, this little adjustment made me really happy with the location.
4. The room
When booking my room, I noticed I could get a private room for just $2 more than a normal dorm room so I decided to jump on it. They were really nice and upgraded me to a private room with a private bathroom as well.
5. The price. I was able to get a private room with an incredible view, delicious breakfast, and great location for just $17 a night! Comparatively, I spent $10 a night to stay in a 7 person dorm in Guadalajara and all I got for breakfast there was cereal and doughnuts. Overall, I would say this place is a steal.
This was absolutely in no way sponsored, I just happened to love my experience there and fully believe that whether you are traveling solo or in a group, Casa Del Dante is pretty perfect for the price. If you have never considered staying at a hostel before, this is a pretty great place to try it out.
